Introduction

Welcome to IdleMMO, a game about doing things while you do other things. The core idea is simple. You start an action and let it run. Mining, fishing, crafting, battling, adventuring. Just pick something and the game does it for you. Once it finishes, start another.

This is how everything works. Every activity follows the same pattern. You begin, then wait. When done, you choose your next task. No timers to watch. No constant clicking. Just start something and move on with your day.

The beauty of IdleMMO is that even though the core loop is simple, the game goes deep. You can battle monsters, tackle dungeons, fight world bosses, or grind skills. All using the exact same approach. Start it, let it go, and check in later.

How Idle Time Works

By default, your character can go idle for 6 hours. This means you can start an action, close the game, and it will keep running for 6 hours without needing you to do anything.

If you get membership, this time extends to 8 hours. Membership is bought with in-game gold, so it's purely something you earn by playing. Longer idle times mean more progress while you sleep, work, or do other things.

Getting Started

Follow these steps when you first start to build up gold and understand how the game works.

Coal Ore

Step 1: Mine Coal

Start by mining coal. Do this until you get a couple dozen pieces. This might take a few minutes. If you navigate away from the game, be sure to enable Push Notifications so you don't forget about your action.

Step 2: Sell Your Coal

Once you have coal, sell half of it on the market. At the time of writing, coal typically sells for around 5 gold each. This will give you enough starter gold to buy tools for other activities.

TIP

The market has a tax on sales. Be mindful of this when selling.

Cheap Bait

Step 2: Buy Bait and Go Fishing

Use your gold to buy bait. Bait costs around 2 gold each and lets you fish.

Start by fishing for cod. You can catch raw cod using the bait you just bought.

With the same approach to mining, after finding a few dozen cod pieces, sell half of them on the market. We will cook the other half.

Cooked Cod

Step 3: Cook What You Catch

Cooking turns raw fish into cooked fish, which sells for more. Each cooked fish requires 1 coal, so the coal you mined earlier comes in handy.

Cooked fish also heals you during battles, so keep some aside for fighting.

Rabbit

Step 4: Start Battling

Head to the battle page and challenge rabbits. This is easy combat that builds your experience and primary stats.

Bring some cooked cod with you. If you get hurt, it heals you automatically so you don't lose the battle.

After you beat all available rabbits, you need to hunt more before you can battle them again. Hunting is just gathering enemies. Once you've hunted enough, battle them again.

Cooked Cod

Step 5: Sell Your Extra Fish

If you have leftover fish from battling, sell them on the market just like you did with the coal.

By now you have a sense of how the game works. You gather resources, process them, use them, and sell what's left. Everything builds on this foundation.

Adding more depth

Once you're comfortable with the basics, the game opens up significantly.

Explore the World

Explore the world of Valaron by heading to the main menu and pressing Map. This will allow you to explore the world and find new locations to mine, fish, craft, and battle.

Create Another Character

You can make multiple characters on one account. Your second character can work on something different while your first character does something else. Mine coal with one character while the other character fishes.

It's smart to pick a class that matches what your character will do. If a character focuses on cooking, the Chef class gives cooking bonuses.

TIP

You can create up to 5 characters on one account. However, you can only have 3 characters active at a time.

Explore Dungeons

Dungeons give solid combat experience and valuable recipes. Level 3 dungeons are perfect for lower-level players. Recipes from dungeons sell well on the market, turning them into pure profit.

Chase World Bosses

World Bosses appear on a schedule. Queue up when they're coming and your character automatically battles them when the event starts. World bosses mainly drop pet eggs, but they're a regular source of rare pets.

INFO

World bosses are the best way to obtain pets.

Get Membership

When you've earned some gold, buy membership. Membership doesn't give power, but it gives you 8 hours of idle time instead of 6. That's an extra 2 hours of progress every day with zero additional effort.

Membership is totally optional and purely a quality-of-life upgrade. Everything in the game is achievable without it.

Improve Your Tools

As you grow, buy better tools. Mining uses pickaxes, fishing uses fishing rods, and woodcutting uses felling axes.

Better tools let you perform actions faster. Upgrading them becomes a natural part of progression.

Join a Guild

A guild is a community of players who share a common goal. Guilds are a great way to meet other players and get help with your skills. Guilds can be a way to get extra bonuses, and it opens the game up to new mechanics such as Assaults and Raids.

Get Help

The wiki has pages on every system in the game. If something's unclear, search for it here (You can also use the in-game search to find information on the wiki too!).

The Tavern is where players hang out and chat.
